The Andrew Mathieson Endowed Music and Science Award was established at Culver-Stockton College in 1988 by Robert J. and Carol Fisher-Mathieson and their family and friends to recognize and honor their young son Andrew's life. The fund is awarded on an annual basis to the Music and Science Departments to strengthen the teacher education program by providing additional resources for professors.
Dr. Carol Fisher-Mathieson, Emeritus Professor of Music, has enriched the lives of students at Culver-Stockton College since 1975. She had a lifelong calling to help students pursue their passion and realize their potential in performance and musicology. She was blessed with a beautiful voice herself and shared it with us at every opportunity.
Robert (Bob) Mathieson was a beloved Emeritus Professor of Physics, Geology, Computer Science and Mathematics at Culver- Stockton from 1963-2007. He served as Faculty Marshall at official college events and oversaw the installation and use of the first computers on campus. He gloried in the mind and valued reason and honor in all he did.
